what does asbestos look like in an AC?
In my apt., the AC is blowing out a white poder on everything. The powder looking stuff once you wipe it off the furniture and rub your fingers together turns into a gray ball of dust and fibers.Is this asbestos? I’ve been inhaling it for two years because they won’t clean it up. They have been telling me it’s baby powder. I have seen a vacuum cleaner out by the trash a few apts down and it was filled with white powder. I have sent for in Asbestos Kit after realziing this can’t be baby powder and after staying sick with laryngitis and sinus problems since I moved here. I am always tired and feeling sick. If I try to do anything, I get weak, rapid heartbeat, and cold sweat. My dr. said I have allergies. Yeah, maybe an allergy to asbestos. Anybody out there ever seen anything like this before? Thanks,
Firstly you won’t get an allergy from asbestos, may be from something else.
Best thing is to get a sample analysed by an asbestos laboratory. a/c nearly always has a dust which turns grey, it is usually just general dirt and dust.
