Asbestos Sampling

should i be worried about my health because of asbestos?
so im doing some remodeling and i was removing the painted popcorn ceiling in my 1971 home…when after i removed about a third of it and was covered in dust did i stop to think about asbestos. i took a sample to the lab, and it tested 2% positive of chrysotile and 98% non fibrous material. what should i do now and should i be worried???
You should have been wearing a mask, even if not asbestos. 2% chrysotile is asbestos under USEPA regs and you should not remove the rest of it. You need a professional company to remove it. It will be easy for a licensed company and they may give you a break on the price to help you finish. Respirators are required for such removal, a dust mask is not sufficient.
As to health, your exposure was probably minimal and it is doubtful you would have reached the OSHA worker limits. There was exposure, so compared to not having done it at all, you did have exposure, but it is probably not a measurable risk.
