as a small lock up shop do I need an Asbestos Report?

I have a small retail shop(approx 1000sq.feet) beneath private flats(seperate ownership). Do I need an Asbestos Survey and report before I sell? This question for UK response.

As the owner of a non-residential property, you have a duty to manage asbestos, which is a legal requirement. In short, you need to get a survey done (you could do it yourself if confident) and then keep a record of where asbestos is. Also you need to plan any remedial action where required. These records must be passed on the the new owner.
