Asbestos Vent Insulation
Touching Asbestos Insulation Board?
In the plant that I work in, there are some boards that outline the vents of a chiller unit. These boards are white, big, and about 1/4″-1/2″ in diameter. They are bolted to the chiller units. They may not be Asbestos Insulation Boards, but I assume they are as the plant was built in the 60s. I accidently touched and genlty rubbed my finger against one of them. Could this have released asbestos fibers, and could this have been harmful to my health?

asbestos has many uses—a fireproofing insulation being one of them.I assume a chiller unit is cold–asbestos wouldn’t be used in that application and if it was “in the day”it would have been remediated by now.
asbestos is not white.
diameter is used to measure a circle-a penny is 3/4 of an inch in diameter
