Asbestos Water Pipes
The hot water pipe beneath my apt burst and left a fumey smell. Makes me cough & wheeze. What is that smell?
Worried about 2 little children at home. Can the smell be mold or asbestos?
It could be steam, or whatever’s underneath your floor boards that got all wet. In any case, if your apartment is not habitable I think your landlord is obligated to put you up in a hotel until things are fixed. If you have renter’s insurance you should contact them too. If it’s mold I definitely wouldn’t want to be sleeping there, that causes respiratory disease.
